The GOSPEL or GOOD-NEWS is that the Almighty Creator has provided a way that sinful people (like us) can find the forgiveness of our sins and acceptance and peace with God.
This can happen because of a Sacrifice of great cost--the suffering and death of the incarnate Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ. He came to save His people from their sins. Each one that He draws to Himself (John 8:44,66) comes to put his or her faith in the promise of His grace.
When this happens they experience the transforming power of the Gospel. They are spiritually united to Christ by true faith and experience the power of His resurrection. They are engrafted into Christ and as His Spirit indwells them they become the ready and willing servants of Almighty God.
Have you experienced this transformation? It is also called being "born again" or "regenerated" or "being made alive."
Here's a summary of what it means to truly believe:
What is your only comfort in life and in death?
That I, with body and soul, both in life and in death, am not my own, but belong to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ, who with His precious blood has fully satisfied for all my sins, and redeemed me from all the power of the devil; and so preserves me that without the will of my Father in heaven not a hair can fall from my head; indeed, that all things must work together for my salvation. Wherefore, by His Holy Spirit, He also assures me of eternal life, and makes me heartily willing and ready from now on to live unto Him. (Heidelberg Catechism QA 1)
How many things are necessary for you to know, that in this comfort you may live and die happily?
First, the greatness of your sin and misery.
Second, how you are redeemed from your sins and misery.
Third, how you are to be thankful to God for such redemption. (Heidelberg Catechism QA 2)
ALL THIS IS BASED ON A RIGHT UNDERSTANDING OF THE HOLY BIBLE AS GOD'S WORD!
2 Timothy 3:16,17 says, "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."
At a minimum this verse states that "All Scripture" is of divine origin. We confidently affirm that the Bible is the ONLY INSPIRED, INERRANT AND INFALLIBLE WORD OF GOD. The Bible is God's communication to His people. It is not mysterious and unclear. It is altogether profitable spiritual and moral Truth!
For generations God's people have identified the following FOUR attributes as rightly describing the unique character of the Scriptures. They are:
NECESSARY: The Scriptures teach us about the redemptive work of Christ Jesus the Lord. God's Word serves an essential role in helping believers come to and live out the faith once for all delivered to the saints.
AUTHORITATIVE: God's Word is composed of God's words... so they come to us with His divine authority, and thus are beyond reproof. They judge us; we don't judge them.
CLEAR: The Scriptures are not cryptic or hard to understand. They effectively and clearly communicate Gospel Truth to those who would earnestly read and study them.
SUFFICIENT: The Holy Bible reveals all that that we need to know for life and godliness. There simply is no other revelation that can challenge to truth of the Word of God. It may not be added to nor subtracted from.
From this it follows that by diligent and consistent study, we can come to understand the message and content of the Bible. While each and every believer may not understand or comprehend every part, throughout history each generation has believed and confessed the truth of God's Word. They have done this by embracing the creeds of the early church as well as the historic confessions or summaries of the Bible's teaching. These all agree because the Scriptures are God's communication to us.
So simply put, the question is not, "What does the Bible teach?"
But rather: "Do you really believe it and has your life been transformed by it?"
Much of the work of Gospel ministry is to labor till Christ is formed in every believer (Gal 4:19).
Has the transforming power of the Gospel renewed your heart and changed you life? Are you growing in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ?

stands on the heads and shoulders of past generations by agreeing on the essential truths of Scripture and "the Faith once for all delivered to the saints."
What is this Faith? What is the Gospel of Jesus Christ?
And how does knowing or believing certain things to be true make you a Christian?
These are great questions that the Church has answered and confessed. From the
, the essentials of the Faith need not to be discovered but embraced and believed.
