Randy received a Master of Divinity from Mid-America Reformed Seminary, and was ordained in May of 1990.
He had Summer preaching assignments in Inwood, IA and St. Catharines, ONT, and after graduating ) he served as stated supply Edmonton, ALB. After this he was called to become the pastor of the Orthodox Christian Reformed Church in Ripon, CA.
He labored there from 1989 to 1998. He was then called by the Trinity Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Bridgewater, SD, whom he served from 1999 to 2009. Answering Life's Hard Questions
If you're looking for a church where the Word of God is heartily believed and clearly taught, you have found one. By God's mercy we are growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We would love to be of service to you. We're not afraid to ask and answer the hard questions of life.
"Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy?"
This question from Isaiah 55 strikes at the heart of the issue. We don't need an emotional band-aid or to just feel better about ourselves.
We need what only God can supply by His Spirit and Word... the transforming power of the Gospel. We need to be united to Christ by true faith and experience the power of His resurrection. When we genuinely believe, we become engrafted into Christ. In this way we become the ready and willing servants of Almighty God and desire to serve Him with all our hearts.
This transforming faith begins with a clear understanding of basic teachings of God's Word!
How many things are necessary for you to know, that in this comfort you may live and die happily?
First, the greatness of my sin and misery.
Second, how I am redeemed from all my sins and misery.
Third, how I am to be thankful to God for such redemption. Heidelberg Catechism QA 2
Every Christian should have a clear understanding of these three things. If you'd like to learn more about this give us a call or attend our worship service.
